Dr. Jacobs is a third generation dental graduate from the University of Detroit. His father Paul is a retired orthodontist, uncle G. G. Jacobs a founder of the specialty of orthodontics, and a brother Peter, a general dentist.

Attending the Misch Institute for Advanced Implant Training, Dr. Jacobs includes implants in his practice. He is active in continuing education, attending courses in Cosmetic Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Implants among others. He is a past President of the Cloverland District Dental Society, and a founding member of the Wisconsin Academy of Dental Implants. He has served on the advisory board for Lords Dental Studio, one of the largest dental labs in the U.S. Dr. Jacobs is certified in the INVISALIGN orthodontic technique. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Jacobs' hobbies include photography, outdoor sports, woodworking, computers, and stained glass. He also provides a web site to promote missionary dentistry and continuing education for dentists.
